Reagan's Favorite Story

Ronald Reagan used to love to tell this story:

A child psychologist wanted to observe how different children reacted to different negative circumstances.

They got a room and filled the room with horse manure. They put a pessimistic child into the room and observed how he responded.

Predictably, he whined and cried, and despaired that he was in a room full of smelly manure.

They they put the other child in there. This guy started digging in the manure with such excitement. No one could figure out what he was doing.

After watching this for a while, they pulled him aside and asked him why he was so excited.

He replied, "Well with all this manure, there's got to be a pony in here somewhere!"

You and I need to be that kind of person.

If you are in a manure pile today, I suggest you start looking for the pony.
