The "New" Christian

I'm afraid that we have redefined what it means to be a Christian. The results are terrible.

1. The new Christian can pray a simple prayer, show up one time a week, pay his dues, and punch his ticket to heaven.

2. The new Christian can sleep with whomever he wishes because he doesn't want to be radical.

3. The new Christian sees the cross as something Jesus had to go through to get a better life for us. He never considers putting his own life on the cross.

4. The new Christian rejoices in salvation but rejects discipleship.

The problem with this new Christian is that he isn't a Christian according to the Scripture.

I'm tired of cultural Christianity that we make up as we go along. I just want to follow Jesus.
