I'm currently watching the Home Run Derby at Yankee Stadium, the home of the greatest team in baseball! Also sad for the death of a great Yankee, Bobby Murcer. I don't know if the Yanks have a World Series in them this year. I hope so.
Here is my Life Journal for today:
"By faith Abraham obeyed when he was called to go out to the place which he would receive as an inheritance. And he went out, not knowing where he was going." Hebrews 11:8
It is amazing to me that Abraham began a journey without knowing where he was going! He didn't know the details of his journey, but he knew that the hand of God was guiding his steps. This is so like our walk of faith in Christ. We don't know all the details of the trip, but we know that God's hand is guiding our steps, if we give our lives to Him.
I will acknowledge the Lord in all my steps so that He might direct my paths. I will strive to rest in that knowledge and not worry when I don't know all the details.
Lord I acknowledge you today in all I do!
Also today I received an email from a precious brother in Christ who said that he had listened to our services online. He said that it had helped him deal with the death of his son, helping him get his joy back! How great is it to know that we serve a God that cares for the hurting and carries them through!
