Do You Feel Lucky Punk?

I was in Bass Pro Shop this week looking at the handgun counter, when someone showed me a Smith and Wesson 44 Magnum revolver. Before I could think I said, "Do you feel lucky punk?" (That's from Dirty Harry for some of you.)

Movies can get inside of you. No doubt.

A few years back a minister that I love and respect was talking about how his children had struggled to follow Christ after they had left his home. After the meeting that day I stopped him and asked him, "Is there anything you would do differently if you could raise your children again?" He said, "I think my biggest mistake was underestimating the effect the culture was having on my children."

We are called to engage the culture and at the same time not let it pull us away from our spiritual roots. It's a real battle. I pray for my kids and yours. We must model Christ to them in an authentic way every day.

I didn't buy the gun either. Not yet.
